If you aren’t in Florida, than you may not have heard of the St. Joe Company. They are one of the largest private land owners and real estate development companies in northwest Florida. (This area of Florida was hit particularly hard with the financial crisis.)
It is a very good sign to see companies like this, in areas hardest hit, with cash in their bank accounts.
This cash will be put to use buying land for future development.
